Oh man I love the haunted forest! it is one of the greatest haunts that I have ever been to! You really need to check it out this year. A lot of things have changed from what I hear and they got some really creepy things that weren't there before. There is a lot of great things to do in Utah for halloween, but if you really want to be scared go to the Haunted Forest!

The thesis question asked if the debate is about health care. From the get go, it was politicized into a power struggle for dominance. I don't think that the country was well served by the struggle since the forced legislation while having a number of interesting ideas has probably decreased the overall effectiveness of government by casting the two parties into permanent battle mode. Sad foolishness.

There is a world view difference caused most recently by the tribe of fear and the cult of hope. The tribe of fear followed a strong but ultimately untalented leader after the catestrophic and unprecendented attack on our country in 2001. The cult of personality was the excessive swing of the electorate to anything "not Bush". The POTUS is the complete opposite. It is my belief tha extreme opinions create bad decisions. Current legilations is a case in point. While intended to serve, it may prove to burdensom to support. It's success will truly depend upon how much efficiency can be gained over the current disaster vs how much will be lost by the new entitlements.

Time will tell

Jordan - I don't have a pony in this race when it comes to "I'm a Democrat", :I'm a Republican", "I'm Conservative", "I'm Liberal"... I certainly have opinions and I believe that we are less free today since this HCR law was signed. It NEVER has been about President Obama. I seriously disagree with the philosophies to which he subscribes.

I don't care if HCR is his "Waterloo". I'm NOT looking for his defeat personally. I will absolutely seek his defeat at the ballot box and in policies he's trying to implement (and has signed into law) which will adversely ((MHO) affect, if not destroy our economy.

The impact of raising taxes, especially to the extent we have been promised, has a long history of common results. Increasing income taxes (& related taxes) will increase revenues for the short term; and will lower revenues and reduce the jobs outlook over the long term. Lowering income taxes will overall increase revenues to the government because there will be more funds left in the general market for expansion of jobs, growth, etc.

I'm no economist, I just watch what has happened in our past and know that by repeating the actions of the past, we can predict the results in the future. I believe from watching the ACTIONS of those who receive long-term welfare benefits are not best served in the long term. The become dependent on the government (on us), and less independent to move up economically, personally, spiritually (lots of different meanings here), and emotionally.

As I said in our conversations above, we are less free today because of what has been legislated. I personally want fewer restrictions on everyone's freedoms.

To restate, I have no personal beef with OUR president. I do have all kinds of problems with his political leanings. I truly don't want to see his personal failure, I want to see his political ideas fail when they will likely hurt our Republic.

Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., said, as Ben Smith at Politico reported, "If we're able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him."

What do you think?

Rolando:

I actually wrote this blog entry from my BlackBerry using the WordPress application. It's still buggy and I ended up emailing the blog to myself. I've written full blown email messages and blog entries from my BB for some time.

This isn't limited to Tweets of 140 characters; or SMS which is limited to 160 characters. Sometimes I'll Tweet my facebook status updates because they're short. Other times, I'll go to the facebook app to input the update.

As for blogging, I usually during those times I'm waiting for someone to meet me at a property, or doctor visits, etc., start writing an email to myself so I can add pics and hyperlinks to the blog entries on a REAL computer screen using a keyboard.

Hope that answers your question.

Now for you and me: go make those calls!
